Pawtucket, RI (February 5, 2010) – Douglas McKinnon was elected chairman of the Pawtucket Zoning Board of Appeals board on February 1, 2010. He has been a member of the board for the last seven years and was vice-chairman recently. The position has a one-year term, but the chairman may serve consecutive terms. The previous chairman held the post for 13 years.
The board is made up of seven members and meets regularly each month to review appeals on Zoning Board rulings and to review applications for use permits and dimensional variances as well as tax hearings and housing code violations. In the news over the past several months, the appeals board was involved in the Center for Sexual Pleasure and Health’s request for use of the Grant Building on Main Street in Pawtucket. The CSPH is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing accurate information to adults about sexuality.
Doug is also a broker associate with Residential Properties Ltd. in the Cumberland office. He has been with the firm since 2006. He is a partner in Team McKinnon with his wife Catherine. He is a long time resident of Pawtucket.
